Dr. C. Michael Wren Jr.
Senior Pastor
Michael and his wife, Angela, are originally from Martinez. Both are graduates of Lakeside High School.
High school sweethearts, they have two children, William and Anna. Michael graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from Mercer University, and his Master of Divinity Degree and Ph. D. in church history from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has pastored churches in South Carolina and Indiana in addition to serving as a full-time instructor in Christian Studies at Truett McConnell University and providing adjunct instruction at other institutions. He has served as Senior Pastor of HBC since October of 2015. Michael has a passion for teaching the truths found in the Word of God and shepherding the congregation, and loves reading church history, watching UGA and Atlanta Falcons football, and spending time with his family.
Cindy Lewis
Minister to Children and Families
Cindy is married to her husband, David. They have three children: SaraAnn, Allen, and Hope and they also currently have three grandchildren Gabriella, Finley and Aribella.
Cindy grew up in Virgina and went Averett College in Danville, VA and graduated with a BA in Christian Education with an emphasis in Music and then continued her education at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forrest, NC and received her Master of Divinity with Christian Education. She has served in the ministry for over 40 years with children and youth. Cindy’s passion is sharing the love of Jesus with children, teaching them the word of God, and helping them grow in their relationship with God. Cindy enjoys music, crafts, and Chicago Blackhawk ice hockey.
Amanda Brookins
Music Minister
Amanda was born and raised in Hephzibah and has been a member of HBC since childhood. She resides in Hephzibah with her husband John and their three children, Duke, Tinley, and Wyatt. After graduating from Davidson Fine Arts School in 2004, Amanda received an Associate's Degree in Music from Young Harris College and a Bachelor's Degree in Worship and Women’s Ministry from Liberty University. She has been on staff at HBC as the Minister of Music and Worship since September of 2008. In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, and working on DIY projects.
Rev. Bernard Harper
Minister to Students
Bernard graduated from Hephzibah High School and is pursuing a degree in ministry from Masters College and Seminary. He has recent experience serving as the pastor of a church plant and is active with teens as a high school athletics coach. He and his wife, Carlie, reside in the area along with children Mantle, Alex, Rosalynn, and Bernard, Jr.
